Dardevle
The Dardevle is a lure that has come to be an icon of fishing in the North. This spoon was originally released in 1912 as the Osprey, but the name was changed to Dardevle in 1918. It is a versatile spoon that can be used for a variety of species, but is especially popular for northern pike.
Original Rapala
In the 1930's, Lauri Rapala was fishing from a row boat in Finland's Lake Paijanne when he observed that predator fish always attacked the baitfish that swam with a slightly off-center wobble compared to the rest of the school. He carved a lure that imitated this action, and caught ton of fish with it. This lure eventually became the Original Rapala, and can be found in almost every angler's tackle box.
